Ever wondered what happens when you take a pinch of Hawaiian sunshine, mix it with Nebraska cornfields, and throw in a crime scene investigation just for fun? Well, you get Death by Dissertation, a concoction I brewed up during a month-long cram session known as National Novel Writing Month back in November 2014.

I’m done with screens, and I just want to escape into a good book. But the libraries closed, I owed too many fines, and they shut down my account. (Oops.) I’ve gathered a list of books or authors I recommend for you to survive the quarantine blues.
I can only think of two long-term series where I’ve read every single book in the series, some of them twice.
